Mushrooms might not be for everyone but that just means all the more air fryer mushrooms for us mushroom lovers!
I've always loved a pan-fried mushroom like these sautéed green beans and mushrooms but after trying air-fried mushrooms a few weeks ago I won't cook them any other way!
Cooking mushrooms in the air fryer is effortless. All you have to do is throw them in and shake the basket every few minutes until they are tender and juicy.
Serve these mushrooms alongside a delicious steak, some chicken or nestled in a tofu buddha bowl. Or just eat them straight out of the bowl - I won't judge!!
You can also make these mushrooms vegan, dairy free and whole30 friendly by leaving off the parmesan cheese. They still taste AMAZING!

TOP TIPS
- If you're using quite large mushrooms you may need to add a little more oil to the mixing bowl before you cook them. You'll be able to judge this easily as everything should mix well. If it isn't, throw in a little more oil.
- I like to use regular olive oil when roasting / air frying and extra virgin olive oil for topping on finished dishes (like salads). This recipe uses both BUT if you only have regular olive oil it's fine to use just that.
- Scale this recipe up or down. As is it will feed 2-3 people as a side dish.
- Every air fryer works differently. Keep an eye on your mushrooms as they are cooking and give the basket a good shake every few minutes to ensure even cooking.
- Leave parmesan cheese off to make these mushrooms vegan, dairy-free, whole30 and paleo friendly.
