WHAT IS AN AIR FRYER?
An air fryer is a kitchen appliance that uses convection to rapidly circulate hot air around food to cook and crisp it up. It’s essentially a mini convection oven that fits perfectly on your countertop.
HOW LONG DO I COOK ALMONDS FOR IN THE AIR FRYER?
I've found that cooking for 8 minutes on 180C / 350F is perfect, however, all air fryers are different. Give your almonds a good shake after cooking for 5 minutes and assess. Then check in every minute after that. Almonds can go from almost done to burnt very quickly so it's best to keep a close eye on them.
HOW TO ROAST ALMONDS IN THE AIR FRYER?
Add the almonds into a single layer in the air fryer basket and cook on 180C / 350F for 5 minutes. Give the basket a good shake and continue cooking, checking every minute, until they are done.
Move to a bowl to allow them to cool fully. Once cooled, store them in an airtight jar or container.

WAYS TO USE ROASTED ALMONDS
Roasted almonds are great as a snack on their own. For a delicious dessert try using them to make Chocolate Covered Almonds.
They can also be chopped up and mixed into cereal and yogurt. Or on top of Easy Stovetop Banana Oatmeal. They also make great salad toppers – this Roast Pumpkin, Spinach and Feta Salad is a great option.
TIPS FOR ROASTING ALMONDS IN THE AIR FRYER
- Almonds can go from almost done to burnt very quickly, so although this requires more attentive cooking (checking every minute after the first 5) it's worthwhile. The almonds are done when they are a few shades darker and smell very nutty. Not sure if it's done? Take a bite - it should be crispy and darker both inside and out.
- Don't put them in an airtight jar or container until they are fully cooled.
- You can make more (or even less) than one cup of almonds, just ensure they all fit in a single layer in the basket.
- Dry roasted almonds make a great gift. Pop them in cute jars and surprise people on the holidays.
- Don't have an air fryer? Make them in the oven using this Roasted Almonds recipe.
